Moen’s finishes are designed to stand up to daily wear and tear. Moen Lifeshine® finishes, like Lifeshine® Bronzed Gold, are both decorative and durable — meaning the finish won’t tarnish, corrode or flake off for the product's lifetime. Moen’s Matte Black finish helps conceal wear and tear and water spots for a sleek, unblemished appearance. If you're concerned about keeping your faucet clean, look for products with Spot Resistâ„¢ finishes that resist fingerprints and water spots to maintain the brilliance of the fixture, like Spot Resistâ„¢ Stainless and Spot Resistâ„¢ Brushed Nickel.

Yes, Spot Resist™ is a Moen-exclusive finish technology designed to resist fingerprints and water spots, keeping your faucet or shower looking cleaner for longer. It’s especially helpful in high-touch areas, like kitchens and busy bathrooms. You’ll find this feature available on select finishes, including Spot Resist™ Stainless and Spot Resist™ Brushed Nickel.

If your faucet has a Lifeshine® finish, use a damp cloth and mild liquid dishwashing soap for a brief amount of time, then rinse with water and dry it with a soft cloth. Most common household cleaners (including mild abrasives) can be used to clean your faucet, when done in accordance with the manufacturers' instructions. However, all cleaners should be rinsed off thoroughly with water immediately after cleaning your faucet. Avoid using any harsh cleansers, like lime scale removers or pads/sponges that are unsafe for polished metallic surfaces. Most green, fibrous pads and sponges contain microscopic mineral particles that can scratch a faucet's finish.

We also recommend periodically applying a quality non-abrasive wax, such as car wax or furniture wax, especially for matte or textured finishes, like  Brushed Nickel, Brushed Gold, Satine and Stainless). Applying wax will slightly change the color of your faucet but won’t harm the finish. Try testing the wax on a less visible area of your faucet first. If you’re cleaning a Moen faucet, showerhead or accessory that doesn’t have a Lifeshine® finish, don’t use cleaners that contain abrasives, harsh chemicals, alcohol or other organic solvents. You should also avoid using any other cleansers, pads or sponges that are unsafe for polished metallic surfaces. Most green, fibrous pads and sponges contain microscopic mineral particles that could scratch your faucet's finish. After you’ve finished cleaning your faucet, immediately wash off any remaining cleaner with water. To remove water spots, use warm water and a soft, damp cloth.

To help preserve the luster of your faucet, we recommend occasionally applying a high quality non-abrasive wax, such as car wax or furniture wax. Explore our care and cleaning guide for more information.
