Innovative product for home protec I am so impressed with this device and by the creators and support people that I decided to actively promote it to my friends and family. Simply said, as a person who loves technology, nothing has impressed me more than this way to allow technology to give us peace of mind in our homes. The folks at Flo Technologies have changed the way we think about water, certainly the most precious, and potentially, the most destructive amenity in our homes! Prior to the Flo device, small water leaks showed up weeks or months after they started, as damaged wood, sheetrock, mold and mildew, usually requiring expensive repairs and interruptions in our lives.  Also, sudden, catastrophic water breaks have left many a homeowner with the need to move out of their homes while water intrusion is remediated. Supply lines, water heater pressure valves, washer hoses, ice maker lines, hose bibs, frozen pipes; there are too many potential culprits to name and too many to check on a daily basis! Enter Flo by Moen. This simple to install device quietly and constantly monitors water flow into our homes and builds a database, recognizing through the magic of AI (artificial intelligence) each water use, assigning it to the different fixtures in your home.  Flo alerts you to any unusual activity, and automatically shuts of the water to your home unless you tell Flo everything is ok by responding to a phone call from Flo’s monitoring center (“Press 1 if everything is OK”), or via the free Flo app on your smartphone.  Two more innovations: each day (usually in the middle of the night), Flo automatically tests the integrity of your entire system by monitoring the closed system water pressure for a couple of minutes, noting that any drop in pressure means a small leak somewhere. You get an alert on the app, and have the option to troubleshoot it yourself or ask one of the Flo technicians to help. Rated 2 out of 5 by from Big pressure drop and rate on the 900-006 product Right now I cannot recommend buying the product since it is not working per the specs. If the problem can be fixed, then I would consider recommending product. Se description of problem below. Also, I cannot believe that Support told me that I need to go to the 1 1/4" product for $200 more.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Valve does NOT work. No wifi, Had a licensed plumber installed a Flo by Moen at my house. Due to a resent flooding it was recommended to me to install a shut off or monitor valve. I went for the FLo by Moen valve. Well, it does not work, relativ easy to install. But the software does not work. Cant control it via the app they asked me to download. Wifi does not work. Unable to re set the wifi. Website does not show any links on how to do it. Cant get access to a real human being, send tons of emails asking for help, no answer. According to other folks who own FLo valves it appears that WIFI and software problems are very common. Wasted a ton of money. Will have to swap out for a different one and try to get my money back. Don't buy it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Learning feature is not effective The product is good at shutting off water if and when there is an inkling of an issue about to start. The frustration we've had is that there are many more false alarms then can be reasonably expected, and there seems to be no way to avoid these false alarms other than setting the system to sleep, which defeats the purpose of buying the device in the first place. The main and most frequent issue is that the device will constantly alert us and shut off our sprinklers when they run during the night, and there does not seem to be a way to avoid the alerts unless you turn off the device completely. We've also had frustration with a customer support representatives, accessible only via email. There's no way to talk to anyone in person, and the people who respond via email respond perfunctorily without any helpful solutions. I signed up for Flo protect, the subscription service for a trial, and was pleased with the service I received during that month, but the customer service available without the subscription is not existent and or not properly trained or interested in addressing our false positives.

I had a leak that was 15 gallons per hour behind a wall that the system didn't shut down but it only told me I had a small leak. It didn't detect any flow from the leak on the system. Very disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great until it fails. And fails. And fails. First one I bought failed after 6 months. Replaced under warranty. 6 months later the replacement failed. Replaced again under warranty. Now the third one has failed. Waste of $500 for the product and another $500 for the plumber. Clearly there are problems with the design if it can't even last 1 year.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Support is horrid. I installed this valve in January, I could not get it to connect. Sent an email to Flo support and.... no answer. Finally called and they said they were working on fixing a problem with the apple app that was preventing it from connecting. Finally that problem is fixed . Then , second issue , water temperature reads 196 degrees. Sent an email to Flo support , no response again. I unplugged the unit , tried a reset , still reads the same.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Starts great then becomes a negative experience The things that should be standard are behind a monthly paywall. I got alerts of tiny events but nothing when they detected the device defective, 225 F temps in my pipes for days? and it was under warranty. This company is shady and I suspect many devices are defective and they are choosing not to tell their customers so as not to have to replace them until warranty runs out. I had to call in.

I just recieved my Flo model 900-006 Ser#GB030185BABO . Will my water hot water recirculation system cause any problems and has the high water the temp indication problem (in your product reviews) been resolved or is it not an issue for my serial # unit?

I have a water softener/conditioner on a well system and backwashes at 2am about every 10 to 14 days, will this set of an alarm on the Flo system?

Hello Wayne, When the device is installed it will go through a 7 day learning process. If your softener backwashes/regenerates in that period then Flo by Moen will learn its regeneration signature and account for it when setting parameters for the property. Future backwashes will not trigger an alert or shutoff. If the regeneration does not occur during the 7 day period it is possible that you will receive an alert and potential shutoff. Is the Flo suitable for use on a well pump, with the variable pressure as the pump turns on and off? What is the minimum pressure for the Flo to work properly?

Hello DC401, Yes, Flo by Moen is compatible on plumbing systems that are supplied by a well system using a pressure pump. It is recommended to install the device downstream of the pump and pressure tank for proper operation. Most water supply systems have pressures in the range of 65-80 psi or so.  Will Flo work if the supply pressure is above 100 psi?  That is what is supplied by a specific small town water supply.

However, if your home plumbing system is being supplied pressure above 80psi we recommend that you contact a local plumber about installing a pressure reducing valve to minimize the affects of wear and tear on your plumbing system and fixtures. Can you adjust and reduce pressure/flo with this device?
