Tired of starting your day with a lackluster shower? Luckily, upgrading your bath doesn’t have to be a total tear-down. By simply upgrading your shower with a new showerhead, you'll have the luxurious shower experience you've always dreamed of in no time at all, whether you’re a homeowner or simply looking to improve your rental space.
Step 1: Choose Your Personal Showerhead Style
Start creating your new personal shower space by choosing the showerhead that meets your needs and desires. There are three main categories of showerheads to choose from: fixed, rain/spa showers or handheld. But within these categories is a wealth of options.
Fixed showerheads are mounted to the wall of the shower. Although stationary, these showerheads are far from plain. If you prefer a variety of spray options, try a multi-setting showerhead.
Rain showers or spa showers can easily replace standard fixed showerheads for a more luxurious, relaxing experience. Spa showers, such as Nebia by Moen™, provide an invigorating shower experience, delivering full coverage with water drops that work harder to get you clean.
Handheld showerheads are connected to the wall as well, but have a long hose, allowing a wide range of motion. Ideal for bathing children and pets, these showerheads also are a perfect choice for pregnant moms or seniors who prefer to sit in the shower. Plus, they offer an easy way to clean the shower and tub, reaching into every corner. Moen's handheld showers with Magnetix™ are offered in a variety of finishes to maintain a stylish look in the bath, while the innovative magnetic dock provides an easy return back into place, even with your eyes closed. Some Magnetix shower options also incorporate INLY™ Technology, which allows the user to diffuse essential oils into the water, bringing the benefits of aromatherapy into your shower experience.
Step 2: Install Your New Showerhead
It really is as easy as 1-2-3 to update your showerhead. And within minutes, you can create a completely new and invigorating experience. Here's how:
Unscrew the existing showerhead from the shower arm, using a crescent wrench if necessary.
Remove any old thread seal tape and apply new tape by wrapping it around the shower arm threads two to three times.
By hand, screw the new showerhead onto the shower arm. Use the wrench to tighten the new showerhead. If installing a handheld version, first screw the handheld bracket to the shower arm and tighten with a wrench. Then, attach the hose and handheld shower to the handheld bracket.
Step 3: Relax & Enjoy!
Now you're ready to make the most of your new shower retreat! Grab your favorite body wash and loofah and jump in. You can indulge in the shower of your dreams anytime you wish – all without the cost or the headache of a bathroom remodel (or having to move!).
