North Olmsted, Ohio... The November/December issue of This Old House showcases the "TOH Top 100," a distinctive and perennial list of the country's best and brightest new home products, including bath accessories with Moen's revolutionary Press & Mark™ bath hardware installation innovation. This is the second year in a row that a Moen product has been selected for the list.
As chosen by the magazine's editorial team, the sixth annual list culls the most innovative and forward-thinking products launched in 2016 within seven categories, including the bath. Curated after months of testing, this year's honorees continue the magazine's tradition of identifying, testing and crowning those products that tested above and beyond the call of duty and whose performance will make a difference in the day-to-day lives of consumers.
The editors selected Press & Mark for its first-to-market installation technology. Accessories with Press & Mark feature a washable ink stamp to show users exactly where to drill -- eliminating the need for a traditional paper template, and thus making bath hardware updates like towel rings, towel bars, robe hooks and toilet paper holders easier and more intuitive.
"To create this year's list, This Old House editors examined hundreds of home products and found the game-changers that we believe are must-haves," said Susan Wyland, editor-in-chief, This Old House Magazine and ThisOldHouse.com. "We know that this has become a go-to issue for our readers -- just in time for gift-giving season, this comprehensive resource serves as a wish list for remodeling fans all through the New Year by putting the spotlight on innovative products that save time, money and hassle."
Called "genius" by the magazine, Press & Mark has eliminated one of the most frustrating parts of installing new bathroom accessories -- the paper template. Paper templates are challenging to arrange at the right level, which makes it hard to find the right spot to drill. With Press & Mark, homeowners simply choose their desired location, press the product against the wall, and the ink stamp leaves marks on the exact spots to drill each mounting hole.
Moen's Press & Mark innovation is available on several bath accessory collections, including the soft, rounded style of the Darcy™ suite as well as the square-shaped Hensley™ suite.
"Moen has a long legacy of thoughtful design," says Maribeth Kwasniewski, director of retail marketing, Moen. "We listen, watch and learn how consumers behave in the kitchen and bath to create products that meet their needs...sometimes fixing problems they didn't even know they had! With Press & Mark, we've solved a common complaint about installing bath accessories, making it simpler for any DIYer to update their space. We're proud to have this innovation recognized by This Old House...and even more proud of the way it has made life easier for homeowners."
In 2015, Moen's Magnetix™ handshowers were named to the Top 100 for their powerful magnetic dock that allows for easy release of the handshower, as well as a secure return back into place -- even when your eyes are closed.
