Customer Experiences

Read what some of our customers have to say about their experience with Moen products, or ask a question.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent built product This faucet replaces a worn out unit. This one works wonderfully well, nice and solid. However, the stopper rod assembly is flimsy and for it to work well I had to tighten it with adhesive tape. This should not happen with this high-end product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Faucet We had to replace the old faucet due to parts not being available so we wanted a known brand facet and we are very pleased that we chose Moen

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not include necessary installation hardware Might be a great faucet but I don't know because the installation could not be completed as the necessary hardware was not included. Now I have to figure out how to acquire that and then reschedule a handyman to finish installation. This will mean considerable additional cost and time so no, probably not a good deal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Installation can be tricky! This review focuses on the installation of a Moen 2-part faucet using the product number 9000 Two-Handle Widespread Lavatory Rough-Inn Valve and a corresponding faucet trim product (my installation was product number T6905 from the Voss collection). As with all Moen products I have purchased over the years, the faucet and rough-in valve were of very high quality, worked smoothly and with an excellent chrome finish. The installation of the Moen widespread faucet is different in that the spout and each faucet are connected with a flexible hose. This arrangement allows flexibility in placing each component (i.e., the faucets can be 8 inches apart, or 4 inches, or 7.35 inches, etc.); however, it also means that it can take extra time to ensure each component is aligned. The spout and valve bodies require a minimum 1-1/8 inch mounting hole; the holes in my counter were 1-3/8 inch; this results in a ¼ inch wiggle room. I did not realize this until the rough-in installation was complete and I started to attach the finish pieces on top of the counter. It resulted in the valves and spout not being uniformly lined up – the spout and one valve were OK, but the second valve was about ¼ inch closer to the sink (a small amount, but very noticeable to me). For my installation, the counter was already installed (engineered quartz with under-mount sinks) and accessing the valve bodies through the cabinet door openings was challenging to say the least – if at all possible, I highly recommend that you install the faucet prior to mounting the counter to the cabinet. It was not fun to have to squeeze under the two sinks a second time to properly align the spout and faucets with my wife carefully measuring to ensure uniformity. In addition to alignment problems due to the wiggle room typically found in countertops, the rotational alignment can also be tricky. The valve body has a splined stem which mates with the splined faucet handle. The splines seem to be spaced closely enough to allow uniform alignment, but I found this not to be so. When I noticed the two faucets were not uniform, I took one handle off the splined stem and rotated it such that it moved one spline. However, this over-corrected the miss-alignment. Eventually I had to again go under the sink, loosen the valve body, and carefully rotate the assembly with (again) my wife eying the alignment to ensure the two faucets were uniform in appearance. If this all sounds like a lot of work, it is. Plus I have two sinks in that bathroom; the whole process took several hours. On the other hand, Moen has done a good job of engineering the valve rough-in. There is one hose which connects each faucet to the spout and it attaches to each component with a very slick push-on connector; no wrenches required! Moen also provides a special wrench to hold the nut which fastens the spout assembly to the sink; it is about 8 inches in length and makes installation of the nut (which is high up behind the sink bowl) very easy. The valve body hold-down nuts however, must be tightened with a wrench or long-grip pliers in the usual knuckle-busting manner. We are very happy with the Moen faucets in our recently remodeled bathroom, but the installation can be tricky. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Widespread faucets warning I purchased the widespread faucet and found installation to be very difficult. The kit is for 8 to 16 inch spread and our need was for 8 inches. The design does not allow for proper install as the valves interfere with each other. Our handles ended up facing slightly forward in the closed position due to interference issue.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Durable and stylish fixture Good fixture - I installed in my kid's bathroom. It's easy for them to use and easy to keep clean. I nicked a couple of stars simply because the installation instructions are mostly picture based with little actual instruction - which made for a longer process and some trial and error. Overall sturdy and stylish.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Update after less than 2 year use This is an update to a review I posted Sept. 2013. I'm now having problems with the faucet handles being very difficult to turn. The hot water is nearly impossible to turn and the cold is tight. I had a water softener installed a year ago so I know there shouldn’t be much build up of deposits. I called Moen customer service (who are very polite) and was told the cartridges needed replacing. After 19 months?!? They said I could do it myself and emailed step by step instructions. They offered a "special tool" that would make it easier to remove the retaining nut that held the cartridge in place…the cost for the tool was $15. Being a novice at home repairs, I purchased the tool. It was not helpful. The plastic retaining nut was so tight that the metal "special tool" stripped it, making it impossible to remove. I called Moen customer service and they said I’d need to replace the whole valve from underneath. Since that is way more involved, I had to hire a plumber which cost me $125. I am so disappointed in this product. Unfortunately, I purchased two of these sets as I have dual sinks in the master bathroom, so I'm stuck with them. If it were just one, I'd rip it out and replace it with another brand. For the price that these faucets cost, you'd expect better quality :-(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality This faucet was for a remodeled bathroom- My plumber who is a perfectionist commented that this was a great faucet- high quality. It works well in my modern/ transitional bathroom- classy with just the right amount of pizzazz. The spout is a bit longer and the water almost looks like a waterfall. I love it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks great if you don't use it. Spotty if you do! These are very stylish and look great but we have them in the brushed stainless finish and they are a nightmare to keep clean. Water spots sit on the handles and "stain" them. It is very had to get the water spots of them. While I love the look (when clean) I would not buy them again due to the water spots. Seriously! It's a faucet, it's going to get water on it so the finish should be able to handle this. It does not though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We are in the middle of a bath remodel and these haven't been installed as yet, however, this faucet has a nice weight and the spigots turn smoothly. Also our contractor said Moen is easy to change in regards to the innards as it has a cartridge. I really love the look of this style. It's not so modern that it will look outdated soon. Just a nice simple look that would fit in a lot of bathrooms. The tap has a nice tall neck so should be easy to use. I really think this is a great style and quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just perfect! I love these faucets. We installed 2 of these in polished chrome in our new bath remodel. They have a wonderful sold feel and the lever handles are a real plus. he rise and extension of the faucet is perfect for washing hands or leaning over to wash your face. They are sleek and contemporary but not so severe that they will look dated in a few years. I am very happy with these Voss handles and would recommend them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific !!!! Beautiful faucet, looks more "high tech" and "stylish" than the low arc faucet we had. Installation was a breeze, very easy DIY project. The most difficult part was removing the old faucet. Now wifey wants two more for the master bath. Durable rating based on my experience with other Moen faucets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty but high maintenance I used two of these in a double sink vanity during my remodel. They are beautiful to look at but be prepared to wipe them down EVERY time you use them. If you don't wipe them down, it takes some serious polishing to remove dried on spots. These are gorgeous faucets, but they demand constant attention after each use. I'm doing another bathroom and powder room and although I would love to use this style again, I won't. I will be using a style that comes with the spot resistant finish.

Do the Stainless faucets spot or are they spotless? Are there any special instructions on taking care of these faucets?

Asked by: Cb1107
Hello CB1107 and thank you for your interest in Moen products. The Moen Voss Brushed nickel two-handle high arc bathroom faucet is not spot resist nickel. LifeShine finishes can be cleaned with most household cleaners (including mild abrasives), when used according to the manufacturers' instructions for use. Avoid using any cleaners or pads/sponges that are unsafe for polished metallic surfaces. Cleaner manufacturers may change their formulations at any time; therefore, Moen does not recommend any specific cleanser. Immediately after cleaning your faucet, wash off remaining cleanser with water. Most green, fibrous pads or sponges contain microscopic mineral particles that can scratch a faucet's finish, including LifeShine finishes. To remove water spots, use a soft, damp cloth. We also suggest a periodic application of a quality, non-abrasive wax such as car wax or furniture wax.

I have an elderly friend that had this bathroom sink faucet MT6905 installed on new granite ....the whole faucet assembly turns on top of granite when she turns on hot or cold side? Shouldn't the upper handle part on the base be the only thing that turns?
