Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Model GXP33C - Keep in mind that the house this disposal is in is only used one out of every 3 weeks and was new Jan 2017. The galvanized grinding parts didn't help, at about the 2 year mark the rotor rusted to the case and I had to free it with force to get it turning again. Now at the end of year 3, the disposal is leaking at the body joint where the top and bottom of the disposal join. Too bad it's only got a 2 year warranty. I will replacing this disposal with a different brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke in leas than 6 months of use This stopped working after only 4.5 months of use. This was installed in our new build and therefore I don’t have a proof of purchase to use the warranty.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money This is the disposal that came installed in my 2 year old townhouse and I hate it. It constantly jams and freezes and it unjam it you have to buy a special tool instead of just using an Allen wrench like every other disposal I've ever used. You have to put the tool into the disposal from the sink above, it is very hard to get it set just right to use and to turn it to undo the jam especially for someone like me who has arthritis and chronic pain. If I could afford it I would take it out and replace it with another one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Product never worked I purchased a new build home in August of 2017 that came with the moen garbage disposal . I turned on the disposal for the very first time on January 17, 2020 and the unit did not work. I checked all the connections and verified that the unit has power even reset the power button on the unit .just a faint hum of electricity but unit does not work

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Compact, saves needed space Just had unit installed. Operates quickly and quietly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The right disposal My lifetime 4th disposal, and this one works great. Seriously if you teach all users to scrap their plate in the trash, then rinse over disposal, disposals should last 15 years or more. Don’t put celery, egg shells, meat, or anything bigger than a crumb down any disposal. This one is missing a place to use a handy crank, but it has a reset button. My last disposal lasted 18 years, and it was the rubber seal that started leaking. The rubber seal! If you have to replace a rubber seal you might as well get a new Moen!!

The garbage disposal (2 yerad old home) stopped working. I pressed the reset button and turned it on. It made some sound for few seconds and died. After disconnecting power I checked inside with hand, and the rotator (?) was moving halfway. No success.

Just installed - every time it starts up there is a loud clank but then goes away - is this mormal? Checked & nothings inside that could cause it. Do the blades have to be tightened after install?

Asked by: valkn
Hello valkn and thank you for your interest in Moen products. The blades on the GXP33C disposal do not require tightening after installation. In some instances, the knockout plug for the dishwasher connection will remain in the disposal creating a noise. Since you’ve determined there is not an object in the hopper, our product specialists will be happy to work with you to troubleshoot. Please contact our Consumer Services Contact Center for assistance.

i can hear the motor running but it seems that the unit is jammed. how to I un jam the product?

Asked by: Racquv
Hello Racquv and thank you for your interest in Moen products. The Moen garbage disposal, model #GXP33C would require the following steps to unjam it: Turn off the disposal and the water, then power off. After the disposal has stopped running, check for any foreign object(s) lodged between the turntable and grind ring. Dislodge any object(s) by rotating the turntable, in either direction, with a wooden spoon and remove the object(s). (Unjamming wrench service kit available for order on moen.com part number 1037). After turning the power back on, press the red reset button before resuming use. We can also provide additional technical and warranty assistance by calling us at 800-289-6636.
