Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very smooth operation I remodeled my bathroom a year ago and was very unhappy with the original shower/tub combo (Delta Foundations). I finally decided to replace it after I found that it was leaking. Enter Moen Adler. The biggest things for me are: - the ease of installation - the smoothness of the shower handle operation (Delta Foundations was very "catchy" and required a special touch sometimes to get it to turn without the handle falling off) - the heaviness of the components: every piece feels like it was actually worked on with some craftsmanship, not thrown together all helter-skelter. I just installed it yesterday, so time will speak to its durability, but I'm loving this thing already.

What is the difference between 82603SRN and 82613SRN products?

Asked by: RickBuilder
Hello RickBuilder and thank you for your interest in Moen products. The only difference between the 82603SRN and the 82613SRN faucets is that the 82613SRN includes a valve cap that can be used to cap the tub port on the valve. Capping the tub port will allow you to install the valve for use as a shower only. If you have additional questions, please feel free to call us at 800-289-6636. Our current business hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 5:30 pm (Eastern Time).

We are planning to replace a 20-year old existing Moen shower/tub unit. How difficult is it to replace a Moentrol valve, with a Posi-Temp valve. And would it be worth the cost of a plumber to change the valve, or simply stay with a Moentrol?

Asked by: Tom Ryan
Hello Tom and thank you for your interest in Moen products. It may not be necessary to change your existing Moentrol valve. If you would prefer a new Posi-Temp valve, the old rough-in valve will need to be removed first. The cost involved is usually dependent on the location and access to the plumbing. If you would like help with determining whether it’s possible to retrofit your existing valve, click on the link below. For additional assistance, please feel free to call us at 800-289-6636. I have older plumbing (installed late 90's) and I want to replace everything but the valve. The hardware fittings(key-temperature stop, etc.) does not fit my existing plumbing valve/stem unit. Is there an adapter available to use?

Asked by: CJKJMK1022
Hello CJKJMK1022, the Moen model #82603, will only fit an existing posi-temp valve. The screws will be located at 2&7 and the handle will only rotate to turn on.

I am installing these in a new construction. My builder says that the tub/shower faucet should have a diverter valve that the plumber needs to install for the rough-in. Do I need one of these?

Asked by: MarkP
Hello MarkP and thank you for your interest in Moen products. The Moen Adler Chrome Posi-Temp® tub/shower kit will include the rough in valve. If you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to call us at 1-800-289-6636 or visit the "Contact Us" tab on www.moen.com to send us an email.
