Introducing the Moen Network: Forever Changing the Way People Experience Water in Their Homes
CONSUMERS NOW HAVE UNPRECEDENTED CONTROL OVER THE WATER IN THEIR HOME THROUGH AN INTEGRATED, SMARTPHONE APP AND VOICE CONTROL CAPABILITIES
North Olmsted, Ohio… You speak to a virtual assistant or tap your smartphone to start your shower and select the perfect water temperature. You command your kitchen faucet to fill a pot with a precise amount of water at the exact temperature you want. You’re notified on vacation through an app that there’s a water leak in one of your home’s pipes, and you’re able to turn off your home’s water remotely to prevent catastrophic damage. You can monitor your daily water usage and make changes, if you like, that improve your water footprint. All of these capabilities and more are now possible thanks to the Moen Network. This new whole-home smart water ecosystem features voice-activated, app-based technology that was first used in the U by Moen Smart Shower. Now it’s available across a full line of smart home products – including kitchen and bath fixtures, as well as a best-in-class home water monitoring security system – that will revolutionize the way people control and think about water in their homes.
“While smart home technology has expanded across all product categories, smart water is the toughest frontier in this revolution with the most at stake – health, comfort, security, conservation and peace of mind. We’re delivering all of that and more with the Moen Network,” said Mark-Hans Richer, senior vice president, chief marketing and innovation officer, Fortune Brands Global Plumbing Group. “This innovation is the next step in our plan to better people’s experiences with this vital resource throughout the entire home by leaning into technologies that are mainstays in their everyday lives.”
Products like U by Moen™ Smart Faucet in the kitchen, Flo by Moen™ Smart Water Shutoff and Smart Water Detector to monitor a home’s water supply, and U by Moen™ Smart Shower in the bathroom can all be controlled seamlessly within the Moen app.
“We’re committed to offering consumers new and innovative technologies that will not only improve their interactions with water, but also make their lives easier so it’s simpler to be smarter about water usage,” adds Richer. “As the industry leader, it’s our responsibility to ensure our most precious resource is managed and used efficiently for generations to come.”
U by Moen Smart Faucet:
The U by Moen Smart Faucet is the only voice-activated kitchen faucet on the commercial market with the ability to dispense amounts of water as small as one tablespoon and as large as 15 gallons at a specific temperature. Leveraging the same technology as the revolutionary U by Moen Smart Shower, this kitchen faucet allows homeowners to distribute precise amounts of water at exact temperatures and create an unlimited number of personalized presets to simplify activity at the sink. Consumers can utilize multiple new methods to control their faucet including voice activation, a hands-free wave sensor, the smartphone app or the manual handle.
The U by Moen Smart Faucet technology is available on a variety of fixture styles, in a number of finishes sure to suit any design taste. It’s compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant platforms.
Flo by Moen Smart Water Shutoff and Smart Water Detector:
The Flo by Moen System, comprised of the all-new Smart Water Detector and the Smart Water Shutoff, offers peace of mind and puts users in control over their water supply system to help detect and prevent leaks, as well as monitor water usage, all from the convenience of their smartphone.
The shutoff valve connects to the home’s main water supply line to proactively monitor the integrity of the home’s entire water supply system. If an abnormality is sensed or a leak is detected, the device will alert the homeowner via a notification through the corresponding Flo by Moen and Moen smartphone apps. The system can be set to automatically shut off the home’s water to help prevent potentially catastrophic damage.
And now for greater water security, Moen is launching the new Flo by Moen Smart Water Detector, which enables users to identify not only when but also where water may be leaking in their home to inhibit any possible damage. Users simply place the discreet 3.5” sensor where they see a risk, such as the basement, laundry room, attic or other areas in the home that are susceptible to water damage by environmental factors or fixture malfunctions. If the Smart Water Detector senses the presence of water, freezing temperatures or high humidity, it will alert users through a push notification in the smartphone apps. Homeowners can use and connect multiple detectors within their home and if they also have the Smart Water Shutoff, a leak sensed by the Smart Water Detector can automatically trigger the shut-off feature to protect the home from water damage.
The Smart Water Detector works in conjunction with or independently from the Flo by Moen Smart Water Shutoff, giving consumers the opportunity to achieve smart home water management at any budget.
U by Moen Smart Shower:
