North Olmsted, Ohio... A soothing, warm shower is one of the best parts of the day, but it can also be dangerous if homeowners aren't careful. Slippery floors in and around the shower stall can cause falls and injuries. In fact, two-thirds of all bathroom injuries treated at emergency departments occurred in the tub or shower, according to a 2008 study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.* Fortunately, it's easy to reduce your risk of falling in and around the bath. Installing bath safety items is a simple, effective way to make the bath a safer place.

To raise awareness of National Bath Safety Month in January, Moen will be sharing helpful content on its social media channels to encourage everyone to "Make Every Bath a Safe Bath™." Throughout the month, Moen will provide bath safety tips and statistics to educate consumers on the importance of bath safety and how they can make easy, impactful updates to their homes -- without sacrificing style.

Consumers will also be invited to engage in the conversation as part of the "My Bath Safety Story" promotion, which asks consumers to share their own stories about how bath safety has positively impacted their lives. Whether it's explaining why they added a grab bar to their shower or describing a helpful experience where bath safety items prevented a slip or fall, participating is easy -- simply post safety stories to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with #BathSafety and #entry for a chance to win a $100 gift card. One winner will be randomly selected each week throughout January.

"We've heard so many stories from consumers sharing ways bath safety has made a difference in their lives," said Chris Nealon, wholesale product manager, Moen. "How a shower seat helped a pregnant mom avoid slipping while shaving. An athlete with a broken leg who could shower without assistance...thanks to a grab bar. How a grab bar with shelf helped a grandparent feel secure while bathing -- and provided a spot to store bath toys for visiting grandkids. It's these stories and more that inspired the "My Bath Safety Story" promotion. By creating an avenue for homeowners to share their stories, we hope we'll inspire others to incorporate bath safety products into their bathrooms, no matter their age or level of physical fitness. Bath safety really is important for anyone at any age."

Moen offers a wide range of products -- from grab bars to hand grips and a variety of shower seats -- that help homeowners create a safer bath, while still staying true to their style. Whether they prefer a sleek modern look or a more traditional design, consumers have plenty of options that meet their needs in the Moen portfolio...meaning they never need to sacrifice fashion for function.

Moen makes installation easy, too. Grab bars feature the SecureMount™ System. SecureMount Grab Bars feature a flange design that allows for secure installation into any stud at any angle. They are compatible with SecureMount Anchors which make it possible to quickly, easily and securely install a grab bar anywhere on the wall, with or without studs.
