Steps for a Successful Installation
Flo Shutoff Standard Installation service provides a professional, hassle-free installation experience for your Flo Shutoff device by a licensed plumbing installer.
Common Additional Cost Scenarios
Depending on your home's plumbing set up, additional work costs may be required beyond the Prepaid Standard Installation. While most installations qualify for Standard Installation, certain pre-existing plumbing conditions may require additional components or modifications to ensure a proper installation and protect your plumbing system.

Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV)
May be required by plumbing code if your homes water pressure exceeds 80 PSI to prevent damage to your plumbing system.

Manual Shutoff Valve
Older gate valves may be frozen or inoperable, requiring replacements for safe water shut off.

Pipe Modification
If there's an insufficient uninterrupted straight pipe or limited accessibility for installation, minor to moderate adjustments may be necessary. Learn more.

Power Outlet
An accessible power outlet must be within reach of the devices power adapter cord length (10 ft.) or within reach when using a single customer supplied Moen 25-foot low-voltage extension cord. If an accessible approved outlet is not available within this range installing a new outlet would require a qualified electrician. Learn more.

Well System
For home supplied by a well system, an operable sediment filter with at least a 150-micron filter or 100 mesh wye strainer is required. If no filter exists or it does not meet specifications, additional labor and materials (e.g., special piping, fittings, filters, strainers) may be required.
What if I need additional work?
On Installation Day: Your assigned installer will assess your plumbing system to determine if it qualifies as a Standard Installation or if any additional work is needed.
Approval Process: If additional services are required, you’ll receive a clear cost estimate before any work begins. It is completely your decision whether to accept the additional work or not, and you will be responsible for paying the installer directly. If you decline required additional work, your installation will not be completed, and you may return the Flo device for a full refund in accordance with our return policy.
Professional Installation: Once approved, the installer will complete the work and ensure your system is functioning correctly.

Why can’t you tell me if I need additional work before my installation appointment?
Every home plumbing system is unique, and factors such as pipe configuration, valve condition, and water pressure can only be fully assessed on site. The assigned third-party installer must inspect your system in person to determine if any additional work is required. If needed, they will provide a detailed estimate for your approval before proceeding.
What is my estimated cost for additional work?
Below is a breakdown of estimated costs for common additional work scenarios. Your actual cost may vary depending on factors such as your plumbing system, pipe size, valve type, installation complexity, accessibility, and local plumbing codes.
