When installing a Moen pulldown kitchen faucet, you’ll need a basin wrench, adjustable wrench and screwdriver. A bucket and rags are also helpful to catch water that may drip and drain from your supply lines once they’re disconnected. Read our Moen kitchen faucet replacement guide to learn more about the DIY faucet installation process.

If you’re installing a new faucet in your kitchen or bath, you can shut off the water using the valves below your sink. Turn off both the hot and cold water supply lines and then turn on your faucet to drain the water. For larger plumbing projects, you can turn off the water to your whole home with the water main shutoff valve. You’ll find your shutoff in your basement or within 5 feet of where your water line enters your home.

Low water pressure is often caused by a clogged aerator or mineral buildup in the cartridge. Try removing and cleaning the aerator or showerhead with a solution of vinegar and water to dissolve any debris. If that doesn’t help, you may need to replace the cartridge or aerator. Visit the Moen Solutions Library to find troubleshooting tips.

The best way to care for your showerhead is to clean it when you start to notice hard water buildup. We recommend removing your showerhead from the shower arm for easier cleaning.

First, rinse the face off with warm water and use a mild soap to clear away buildup. Then flush the head with clean water and wipe it dry with a soft cloth. You can also soak it in a solution of 50% water and 50% distilled white vinegar to remove more stubborn buildup but be sure to avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish.
