MOEN NAMED ‘TOP WORKPLACE’ FOR SECOND YEAR IN A ROW BY THE PLAIN DEALER
North Olmsted, Ohio... Do what's right. Work together. Get results. These three core beliefs are the foundation of Moen Incorporated's operating philosophy. And it�s because of these fundamental values -- that its 2,500 associates around the world follow -- that Moen has been recognized as one of the top workplaces in Northeast Ohio by The Plain Dealer. The announcement was made in the June 16 edition of the Cleveland-based daily newspaper.
The Top Workplaces are determined solely on employee feedback. The employee survey is conducted by WorkplaceDynamics, LLP, a leading research firm on organizational health and employee engagement. WorkplaceDynamics conducts regional Top Workplaces programs with 37 major publishing partners and recognizes a list of 150 National Top Workplaces. Over the past year, more than 5,000 organizations and one in every 88 employees in the U.S. have turned to WorkplaceDynamics to better understand what's on the minds of their employees. More than 250 companies participated and the top 100 workplaces were featured in The Plain Dealer.
"We're extremely proud of our designation as a top workplace in Northeast Ohio for the second year in a row," said Robyn Hill, vice president of human resources, Moen. "At Moen, we work diligently to create programs which empower our associates to thrive within our company, and our communities at large. We're thrilled to be recognized among such highly regarded companies in the Greater Cleveland area."
While Moen is well-known for its reliable, thoughtfully designed kitchen and bath products, it also has comprehensive benefits and community support programs. Some of its more unique benefits include adoption assistance, smoking cessation programs and legal assistance. At the corporate headquarters in North Olmsted, Ohio, Moen also provides free flu shots and onsite mammograms. The company holds an annual Health Fair and conducts regular blood pressure testing. In addition, all Moen associates are encouraged to join its staffed, state of the-art Wellness Center and participate in programs including fitness challenges and lunch'n'learn sessions.
As part of Moen's ongoing dedication to wellness, associates are now able to order produce through an online weekly delivery service called Blue Sky Green Fields. Moen associates place their orders, and the food is delivered directly to their office the next day. "It's an easy way to include eating more fruits and vegetables into a busy lifestyle," added Hill.
Moen also encourages associate development. A unique program, called "Moen University," provides a comprehensive selection of e-learning tools, onsite classes and university/professional development opportunities. The company supports its associates through a generous tuition reimbursement program and a college scholarship program for their children.
Promoting from within is a priority for Moen. Accordingly, it posts all open positions, resulting in over 30 percent of its openings being filled by internal candidates. One notable success story is represented by Moen president, David Lingafelter, a Northeast Ohio native who began his career with Moen 23 years ago as a marketing manager.
