My Remodeling Goal
We fell in love with a Cape that was built in 1941 so we knew we would have to do a little updating. After painting the upstairs bath I was too tired to go down to the washroom to clean out the paint brush, so I thought, save some time and the paint is water soluble I'll just clean it here in the sink. Well, it started out with a drip, drip, drip behind the wall, and the rest is history. We had to do a gut out to get to the problem, and then replace some old galvanized sewer pipes. We have a kitchen and a bath to go on the plumbing end and have learned a lot about renovation, hands on!

Tips and Advice from My Remodeling Experience
The best tip I can give someone is to find someone who is reliable, listens, cares about what you want, and does excellent work. We found Smith Construction, a two man local contractor who knows all the best contractors in the area. Scott, the main carpenter, works with the local hardware store and a buddy he graduated with who does his own tile work. They all work as separate contractors, but as a team when needed. The result is whatever you can envision.
