My Remodeling Goal
In a 108 year old farm house with traditional architectural millwork, we wanted to add modern touches and provide this bathroom with a spa-like atmosphere. We introduced a mixture of brushed nickel and chrome metal finishes as well as updated the existing cabinet with new hardware, vanity surface and vessel sink. To obtain the spa-like atmosphere, we added colors in fresh teal-tones and used a crisp clean white as a backdrop to make the new colors pop. Accented with chocolate brown and lime green, the fresh palette suits the space and gives it an open and airy feeling.

Tips and Advice from My Remodeling Experience
We learned that planning was key to the success of this project. After planning for six months, collecting materials and tweaking the plans, my husband and I both took a week of vacation to spend time with each other as well as renovate this bathroom from start to finish. Our well-laid plans meant very few surprises and unexpected costs. We installed a bright white quartz-urethane grout on all of the mosaic tile in order to let the color really pop. This grout was new to the commercial market and has been priceless to us, as it has been very easy to maintain and virtually un-stainable.
