THE MOEN COMMITMENT TO CONSERVATION

At Moen Incorporated, we realize the importance of both water conservation and waste reduction. That's why we have been working on programs to protect our environment since 1982, a long-standing commitment that has resulted in industry-leading sustainability practices.
Moen Incorporated has instituted programs to address all aspects of environmental management in an effort to improve our processes, such as manufacturing, transportation and procurement.
Pollution prevention, renewable energy and other environmental initiatives are a few ways we look to lessen our impact on the Earth.

Highlights of efforts that extend beyond creating efficient products include:

RECYCLING
Moen recycles 90% of all metal, scrap and manufacturing by-products (oils and solvents). In addition, glass, toner and printer cartridges, cardboard, plastic bottles and aluminum cans in our facilities are recycled.
WATER USAGE
In 2008, Moen plans to reduce the water consumption by reusing 70% of all water used in product testing. Moen has also installed water filtration systems in all of our facilities to reduce plastic bottle consumption and waste.
PARTNERSHIPS
Moen is proud to team with the U.S. and Canada Green Building Councils, partnerships designed to conserve the water supply and promote water efficiency. We also work cooperatively with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to comply with conservation guidelines and regulations.
PAPER AND PACKAGING
We are dedicated to continuous improvements in packaging and literature production and practices.

WATER SUSTAINABILITY: PROTECTING OUR WORLD ONE DROP AT A TIME
Moen recognizes the importance of both water conservation and waste reduction. By January 1, 2009, Moen Incorporated will transition to flow-optimized aerators on all Moen®, ShowHouse®, and Cleveland Faucet Group™ (CFG) bathroom faucets. These aerators are designed to use less water and meet or exceed current LEED* requirements without sacrificing performance.

* The U.S. Green Council developed the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System as a nationally accepted benchmark for measuring and documenting green building techniques.

DISCOVER HOW TO MAKE YOUR HOME MORE EARTH-FRIENDLY WITH THESE MOEN PRODUCTS:

Flow-Optimized Showerheads
A 10-minute shower can use between 25-50 gallons (95-189 liters) of water. Moen flow-optimized showerheads use 30% less water and meet all LEED requirements as well as outperform the standard (9.5 lpm) flow rate without sacrificing performance.
